EMSNOW discusses the changing nature of military/aerospace electronics with Andy Barnett, VP of Business Development, Freedom Global. Fresh from the AUSA show in Washington D.C. Andy describes in detail some trends he is seeing as an independent distributor for buyers working with the defense prime contractors. The AUSA show was almost all about drones, Andy says, and the conversation increasingly is about supply chain issues: speeding up the process, but also ensuring integrity and transparency of sourcing for risk mitigation. It’s a fascinating conversation about an important market sector for the EMS industry.
Andy also discusses other market sectors and trends in lead-times and availability with certain component categories. Overall, he says, the industry is in a wait and see mode because of all the uncertainty still present going into 2026.
