Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Job Overview:

Responsibilities:

  • ·        Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks, and trailers; checks against suppliers’ count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing officer per company policy.

  • ·        Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments.

  • Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records for requested categories including goods returned, dunnage, and returnable pallets.
  • Maintains database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required.
  • ·        Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.

  • Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage.
  • Accurately receives inventory into the warehouse management system (Talon), ensuring inventory is properly identified and tracked.
  • Assists with maintaining inventory accuracy for FTZ merchandise by following established receiving, storage, movement, and shipping procedures.
  • Ensure FTZ inventory is properly identified and segregated from domestic inventory when required.
  • Update the shipping records responsibility to include FTZ documentation as required.
  • Update the discrepancies responsibility to include inventory variances.
  • Follows all company procedures for import/exportcompliance and inventory traceability.
  • Ability to follow established FTZ procedures and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Performs other clerical duties.

Qualifications

  • Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received
  • Basic understanding of dock, and warehouse procedures
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • State motor vehicle operator’s permit for operation of forklift highly preferred

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
 

Physical Requirements

  • ·        Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • ·        Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.

Inspector

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inspector to join our team. As an Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of products through data collection, analysis, and adherence to quality control processes. This job is located in our warehouse. This position requires strong attention to detail, precision measuring skills, and knowledge of quality management systems.

Goals of Position:

  •           Know and practice ESD control

  •       Know and practice MSL controls

  •       Know and practice FOD controls

  • Know how to pull up Sales Orders and Purchase Order information from TALON

  • ·        Know electronic communication tools (i.e, email, Teams), and what/when to communicate Level I issues to Sales

  • Know how to validate and process A vendor and testing house shipping paperwork including Packing Slip/Invoice/testing house paperwork compared to Freedom Purchase Order

  • Know how to use bar code scanner and document scanner for TALON.
  • Know how to identify damage to outer bag packaging (i.e., silver bags) and general order condition

  • Know how to validate MSL label information, correct MSL packaging and MSL packaging damage (including when baking is needed for received parts)
  • Know how to validate correct manufacturer, package type (i.e., tubes, reels, trays), date codes/lot codes, and Country of Origin
  • Know why product orientation in package type is important and how to validate orientation uniformity
  • Know how to take and upload inspection pictures (bag packaging, bag labels, parts packaging, part labels, parts in packaging) into TALON

  • Know how to count quantities and use counting equipment

  • Know how to use strap machine and vacuum sealer

  • Know how to report order nonconformances to Management, Level III or Sales

  • Can successfully complete Simple Inspection guideline in TALON

  • Continuous progress towards developing and exhibiting the skills and knowledge necessary for Advanced Inspector position (Goal to achieve next Level in 6-months of start date.)

  • Achieve certification for ERAI InterCEPT Counterfeit Awareness Training – Visual Inspector 1 & 2 training

     

Responsibilities & Authority

  • Always follow ESD compliance
  • Attention to detail including completion of forms

  • Inspect A vendor orders and testing house orders only

  • Review order for correctness, documentation, and condition

  • Identify nonconformances with A vendor and testing house orders for part correctness, documentation, and condition

  • Record picture evidence of inspection in TALON

  • Approve or disapprove A vendor orders

  • Gain inspection accuracy with speed of a minimum of 6 orders/hour

  • Quality Metric – Inspection for Level I – Simple Inspector is 3 of errors per 100 lines processed

 
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
 

Minimal Requirements

  • ·        Warehouse/distribution experience 1- 2 years desired

  • On-the-job training

  • Be able to illustrate competency of each process with Warehouse Operations Manager or Director of Quality

  • Be able to complete Simple Inspection guideline in TALON successfully

  • Be able to communicate nonconformance’s to Level III – Inspection Process Expert and Resource, Management or Sales

  • No external training requirements

  • Must pass a complete Background Check.

Experience:

  • Warehouse/distribution experience 1- 2 years desired
